Same commission

Both platforms keep 20% of each sale. Only MYM offers a lower commission, for its Superstars.

Two countries, two laws

MYM is French and its terms are governed by French law. OnlyFans is English and applies English law.

Dollars on OnlyFans

OnlyFans works in US dollars, so your bank may charge you currency conversion fees.

What MYM and OnlyFans have in common

Both platforms are for over-18s only and work on the same principle: a fan subscribes to a creator to unlock their content, and can buy extra content on top of the subscription or send tips. On both, the creator sets the price of their own subscription, and the platform keeps 20% of every payment.

What sets them apart

The framework. MYM is run from Paris by AIR MEDIAS, and its terms are governed by French law. They’re also written in French only, even though its website for creators is available in English. OnlyFans is operated by Fenix International Limited, in London, under English law.

The money. On OnlyFans, everything is paid and paid out in US dollars, and you can only withdraw once your balance reaches a minimum payout amount, which its terms don’t specify. MYM, for its part, says you can cash out your earnings faster than ever, and offers a lower commission to creators who reach Superstar status.

The formats. MYM names and sets rules for several ways of selling content individually: the Media On Demand library, push media offered in your messages and private media requested by a fan. How they work is explained in our guide to making money on MYM.

Getting the green light to post. On MYM, your age is checked with your ID document and a selfie, and you can only post once your account is certified. OnlyFans’ terms require you to be 18 or over and allow for extra age or identity checks at any time.

Which one should you choose?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. If your community is in France or elsewhere in Europe, and you like the idea of a French platform with support seven days a week, MYM makes sense. If your audience is mainly in English-speaking countries, and working in dollars under English law suits you, OnlyFans has its arguments. Whichever you pick, read the platform’s terms before you sign up, even if that means running MYM’s through a translation tool.

Both platforms also run a referral scheme. MYM’s is covered on our page about becoming a MYM ambassador. To get to know MYM in detail, start with our MYM creator guide, then follow the step-by-step guide to creating your creator account.
